Worship

One of the first things you'll notice on a visit to *hope church glasgow is that we love to worship Jesus.

Keeping Jesus as number one and our eyes fully fixed on Him is the springboard for all our other activities. He truly is worthy of our everything.

On top of Sunday mornings we gather once a month on a Saturday evening for a time devoted to Jesus in worship and prayer.

Kids and Youth

We believe our children can experience God for themselves and are powerful world-changers in their own right!

We run groups for pre-school and primary aged children every Sunday in a smaller room next to our main meeting space. Our youth group (for ages 12-17) normally runs on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month. All the groups are places of fun and friendship, with games, activities and great discussions - designed to help our kids and young people learn more about who God is and who He has made us to be.

Our groups are led by our excellent team of trained and PVG-checked leaders.  Find out more here.

Smallgroups

We place a high value on living in community with one another beyond our Sunday mornings and so we have midweek Smallgroups that meet across Greater Glasgow.

Our Smallgroups are places to connect to God and to each other. Places where we grow spiritually as we eat, pray, laugh, cry, worship and study the bible together. Places where we encourage and cheer on one another. Smallgroups are where you will be known and find support in the day-to-day of life.

Our Smallgroups also find creative ways to reach out together for Jesus – to Glasgow and beyond.

Online Healing and Miracles

God calls Himself 'The God who heals' and one of the primary ways Jesus showed us the Kingdom of God was through His ministry of healing. He gave His disciples the authority and power to do the same.

Join us live on Facebook for your opportunity to be healed! We have some amazing healing stories from our Online Healing and Miracles.  We have seen Leukemia go into remission, Crohn's disease healed, as well as hip, knee and foot pain/problems healed.

121 Mentoring

Our mentoring programme is designed to help each of us to more fully become the 'you' God intended. We want to give each one of us the opportunity to have someone to run the race with us and for us all to be encouraged and cheered on in our walk with God and discover more fully who we are.

Mentors get to love, challenge, encourage and cheer mentees on in their walk with God. Mentees receive wisdom and input in their walk with God, get help and support with personal development, and have the opportunity to draw on another's experience and maturity.

Street Connect Partnership

We believe that God has a huge space in his heart for the vulnerable and hurting, those who have ended up trapped in cycles of addiction, those who are low on hope.  As God's people, we want to respond to this by going out of our way to serve some of these precious people in Glasgow.

We are proud to partner with Street Connect in this, as we reach out to people on the streets of Glasgow every week, offering hope with no judgment, knowing that in Jesus we have a vibrant hope that can lead to life transformation. Most weeks, this looks like a combination of smiles, prayers, sign-posting, and warm conversations about life and about Jesus.

Street Connect are an inspirational Glasgow-birthed Christian charity - see www.streetconnect.co.uk for more info.

Mission and Values

*hope church glasgow exists to carry God’s presence to transform Scotland and beyond.

At *hope we believe that the God of the bible is real and can be experienced both in our gatherings and in our day to day lives. He is powerful and touches our lives in ways that are beyond the natural order of things - He heals, provides and speaks to us. God is a good Father and we are His children, and we reflect this in the way we share life together - all are equally loved and valued. As a church family we train and inspire one another to represent Him better and we exist to make the world a better place by serving and helping our communities, and introducing people to experiences of God’s love and power.

Meet the Team

Jan McFarlane
Elder

Jan knows how to live in and from the presence of God, and signs and wonders follow her wherever she goes. She has a passion to see the kingdom of God released in healing, creative miracles, and through the reality that we can live in supernatural health. She has a desire to see people equipped to live from intimacy with Father God and to learn to ‘be’ and function from a place of rest. She has a burning passion to see the city of Glasgow transformed and then the nation and the nations.

Mark Spicer
Elder

Mark is a spiritual father in *hope and has a heart to see young leaders emerge. His passion is to worship. He is a worship leader and believes that as we encounter Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in the place of worship we are forever changed, and equipped for works of service. Worship also changes things where we are, bringing heaven's atmosphere to earth. He is also passionate to see a church that represents who God is and His heart of love for everyone.

Mark Spybey
Elder

Mark is passionate about seeing people's lives transformed by the love and power of God - whatever their age or background. He has a particular heart for those with broken lives, which has resulted in him leading our partnership with Street Connect through which we reach out to those struggling with addiction and related issues. Mark is a strong believer in community and loves his Smallgroup.
